Question

Each side of a triangle is increased by 10cm, if the ratio of the perimeter of the new triangle and old triangle is 5:4. Find the perimeter of the given triangle.

Open in App
Solution

Let The Sides Of The Triangle Be x,y And z Respectively.

Now Old Perimeter = x+y+z

New Sides = x+10,y+10,z+10

New Perimeter = x+y+z+30

Or Difference Of New Perimeter And Old Perimeter = 30

x+y+z+30/x+y+z = 5/4

4x+4y+4z+120 = 5x+5y+5z

120 = 5x-4x+5y-4y+5z-4z

120 = x+y+z

So Perimeter = 120 cm
