Question

Earth has its own magnetic field around it. Then why the wire carring the electric current during any of the electrical praticals and during transsmission doesn't experience a force due to the magnetic field. (the answer canot be the weak magnetic field because if it would be so then the weakest comppass needle wouldn't align itself into a N-S position)

Solution

Current carrying wire or conductor has magnetic field developed around it, which intersects the magnetic field of the earth. When we compare the magnetic field of the earth with the magnetic field developed due to the current flowing through the conductor, then out of these two fields, the magnetic field of conductor isstronger. So the conductor carrying current is not deflected.
