ABCD is a rectangle. Hence AEFB and CDEF are trapeziums with parallel sides 1 cm and 2 cm and height 4 cm.

Area of rectangle ABCD = length x breadth = 3 x 4 = 12 $c{m}^2$

Area of trapezium = $\frac{1}{2}\times \left(sumofparallelsides\right)\times height$

Area of trapezium AEFB = $\frac{1}{2}\times (1+2)\times 4$ = 6 $c{m}^2$

Area of trapezium CDEF = $\frac{1}{2}\times (1+2)\times 4$ = 6 $c{m}^2$

Area of both the parts are equal.
