Question

Electrolytes which do not decompose completely into ions

Open in App
Solution

Electrolytes: These are types of substances that allow electricity to pass through them in solutions. They get dissociate into ions in solutions which helps in the passage of current.

There are two types of electrolytes:

  1. Strong electrolyte
  2. Weak electrolyte

Strong Electrolytes are the type of electrolytes that completely gets dissociate into ions.

For example HCl(Hydrogen chloride), NaOH (Sodium hydroxide)

Weak Electrolytes are the type of electrolytes that partly gets dissociated into ions.

Partly dissociation means does not dissociate completely into ions.

For example CH3COOH (Acetic acid), NH3 (Ammonia)

Final answer: Weak electrolyte
