Electrostatic force is a non - contact.Explain.

Dear Student

Take the plastic comb and rub it on your head or on a woollen cloth. Then bring it near pieces of paper (without letting the comb touch the paper). You will observe that the pieces of paper will get attracted towards the comb, even when the comb is not in contact with them.The force exerted is called electrostatic force. This shows that electrostatic force is a non-contact force.

Electrostatic forces are non-contact forces; they pull or push on objects without touching them.
