In India, tropical rain forests contain animals like elephants, monkeys and deer. The tropical rain forests of Assam and Bengal also contain the one horned rhinoceros. Since tropical rain forests have very thick vegetation, a variety of animals are also found here which have adapted to living in the trees. These include birds, bats, monkeys, snakes and other animals can be found in tropical rainforests.
Tropical deciduous forests are the most common form of forests found in India. Wildlife such as lions, tiger, pig and elephants are also found here. Since deciduous forests are not as thick as rain forests, animals like lizards, snakes and tortoises that live on the land are found here.
