Transpiration is the process in which water is carried from roots to small pores of leaves in a plant where it gets converted to vapours and is released in the atmosphere. Some aquatic plants like Nymphea contain leaves which float on the surface of water exposing their dorsal surface to light while their ventral surface is in water. The stomata are present more on the dorsal side which is exposed to light. When these leaves come in contact with light, transpiration is carried out,
