Solution

Dear student,

Dogs though genetically demonstrate carnivorous trait, but they comes under omnivorous category, According to some scientist they are facultative carnivores (facultative meaning optional), a category of meat eaters but their stomach can digest vegetable matters too. Facultative carnivores sometimes by their feeding behaviour becomes so close to omnivores that it is very hard to decide in which category they should be placed. Thus dogs being so adaptable, can digest both vegetable matter and meat (prey).

Regards.
