If HCL is a covalent compoud ,then why it conducts electicity?As far i know covalent bonds does not conduct electicity. And hcl is an acid and an acid conducts electricity.

HCl is a polar covalent bond. It has both ionic character and covalent character. Its partial ionic character predominates little more and in aqueous solution it has ions H+ and Cl-. Due to this it conducts electricity.
