Dear student,
The fluid present in the lymphatic system is called the lymph. Lymph is a colourless fluid containing specialised lymphocytes which are responsible for the immune responses of the body. The pores present in the walls of capillaries some amount of plasma, proteins and blood cells escape into intercellular spaces in the tissues to form the tissue fluid or lymph. It is similar to the plasma of blood but colourless and contains less protein.
1.It is an important carrier for nutrients, hormones, etc.
2. Fats are absorbed through lymph in the lacteals present in the intestinal villi.
3. It destroys the invading microorganisms and foreign particles in the lymphatic nodes.
So, it is important in our body.
Regards!!!
