The enzyme enterokinase which is also known as enteropeptidase helps in the conversion of pancreatic proenzyme trypsinogen into trypsin. Trypsin acts on proteins and breaks them into polypeptides for digestion. It occurs in the brush borders of duodenum.
Pepsinogen to pepsin occurs due to acidic pH of stomach and milk protein caseinogen is converted to casein by the gastric enzyme rennin in the stomach.
