Function of carbohydrates are as followed:
(1) Trioses, glyceraldehyde and dihydroxy acetone, are important intermediates of both respiratory and photosynthetic pathway.
(2) Fructose is the common fruit sugar.
(3) Glucose is the main respiratory substrate.
(4) Glucose is the blood sugar of human beings and many animals. It also occurs in grapes an corn.
(5) Sedoheptulose, a heptose sugar, is intermediate of respiratory and photosynthetic pathways.
(6) Ribose, ribulose and sabulose sugars are intermediates of respiratory and photosynthetic pathways.
(7) Glucose and other smaller carbohydrates are the immediate products of photosynthesis.
(8) Fats and amino acids are formed from glucose and other sugars.
(9) Lactose is a natural sugar of milk.
