Question

Epithelial tissue has two types Simple and Compound
Under Simple , cuboidal and columnar get modified to form glandular epithelium.
Glandular on basis apical layer forms 3 types of stratified epithelium.
All these were told in the class, howver initially it was told that compound epithelium forms 3 types of stratified epithelium as well.
So, my doubt is are these stratified ones a type of modified simple epithelium or compound epithelium?
