Solution

The correct option is A

46

Urea: Urea, also known as carbamide, is a safe, useful compound with a significant history. It is a naturally occurring molecule that is produced by protein metabolism and found abundantly in mammalian urine.

The explanation for the Correct answer:

Option(C)

  • The chemical formula of urea is NH2– CO- NH2

Let us find the molecular weight of urea

  • NH2– CO- NH2 = 4 + (2 × 14) + 16 + 12
  • so the molecular weight of urea = 60 g

Here, 60 grams of urea contains 28 grams of nitrogen.

Percentage of Nitrogen = 2860×100

= 46.67 %

Therefore the amount of nitrogen present in urea is 46.67 %

Hence, option (C) is the correct answer.
