Solution

The correct option is A KCNS
On exposure with air for a long time, ethers are converted into highly explosive peroxides.

The formation of peroxides is tested by addition of aqueous ferrous ammonium sulphate solution and potassium thiocyanate.

In the presence of peroxide, Fe2+ ions are oxidized to Fe3+ ions.

They react with thiocyanate ions to from red colored ferric thiocyanate.

Fe2+peroxide−−−−Fe3+CNS−−−Fe(CNS)3

Option A is correct.
