Solution

The correct option is B 1
To evaluate: [(– 6) + 5)] ÷ [(–2) + 1]

We have, (-6) + 5 = -1 and (-2) + 1 = -1
So, [(– 6) + 5)] ÷ [(–2) + 1] = (-1) ÷ (-1) = 1

Division of any number by -1 gives the additive inverse of that number. Aditive inverse of any integer a is (- a).
So, additive inverse of -1 = - (- 1) = 1.

Therefore, [(– 6) + 5)] ÷ [(–2) + 1] = 1
