Even after complex neural networks have come into existence, reflex arc actions continue to be more efficient for quick responses?

Solution
The reflex arc action is important for the organism due to the simplicity they possess. This means that the impulse from the sensory neuron is transferred to spinal cord, where accordingly, the impulse is generated and sent back through the motor neuron. This path can be visualised through the help of the diagram below.
The use of a more complex network is crucial for making more smarter decisions, or for increased capacity of learning/speaking. However, due to the limit of the speed of impulse transfer in myelinated normal axons, any actions having a limited time requirement for action have to rely on the process of reflex actions. If the impulse travels through the spinal cord to the brain, where a response is initiated, important time which may be crucial for the survival of the organism is lost, hence proving the importance of reflex actions.
