Explanation for the statement:

As we know, real numbers are the collection all the numbers such as natural and whole numbers, rational and irrational numbers. Since, we can represent the rational numbers on the number line, therefore they are also real numbers.

Rational numbers can be written in the form of pq, where q≠0. The examples are 12,14,… etc.

Hence, we can say rational number is a real number.
