And given each home on an average consume same amount of electricity.
Let electricty consumed by 80 homes be " $x$ "
$\Rightarrow \frac{50}{40} = \frac{80}{x}$
Upon cross - multiplication
$\Rightarrow 50 x = 80 \times 40$
$\Rightarrow x = 64$
$∴ 80$ homes will consume a total of 64 MW of electricity per day.
