Solution

The correct option is B False

A predecessor is a number that precedes another number. So, if a is a number than its predecessor is a-1.

The whole numbers are a set of numbers that contains 0 and all the natural numbers.

W={0,1,2,......}

So, 1 is a whole number which is a predecessor of 2 as (2-1=1).

Similarly, 0 is a whole number which is a predecessor of 1 as (1-1=0).

Likewise, the predecessor of 0 is -1 as (0-1=-1). But -1 does not belong to the set of whole numbers.

That means, in the set of whole numbers, 0 is a number that has no predecessor.

Hence, the given statement is false.
