Everyday Rohan rides his bicycle as part of his exercise. While travelling at a constant rate, he rides 5 miles in 25 minutes. At this rate , how long would it take Rohan to cycle 10 miles ?
50 minutes
The above problem is a case of direct proportion.
It is given that, Rohan rides his bicycle for 5 miles in 25 minutes.
Let x be the number of minutes that Rohan takes to cycle 10 miles.
Then, we have 525=10x
x = 25×105
Solving we get x= 50 minutes
