Living world’s existence depends on enzymes and on information systems capable of carrying and maintaining the blueprint for these enzymes and capable of self replication and transmission of blueprint generation after generation. Discovery of RNA enzymes, ribozymes, that can catalyze specific reactions and at the same time serve as genetic material led to the existence of “RNA world”.
