The given function can be rewritten as:
fx=3x-2, x<030-2, x=0x+1, x>0
fx=3x-2, x<0-2, x=0x+1, x>0

We observe

(LHL at x = 0) = limx0-fx=limh0f0-h=limh0f-h = ​limh03-h-2=-2

(RHL at x = 0) = limx0+fx=limh0f0+h=limh0fh = ​limh0h+1=1



limx0-fxlimx0+fx

Hence, fx is discontinuous at x=0.
