The Constituent Assembly was formed to Prepare the Constitution for India. It was constituted in 1946. It worked through several committees. The Drafting Committee was entrusted with the responsibility of Drafting the Constitution for India.
The Assembly worked systematically and in consensus to incorporate provisions in the Constitution. The Assembly declares its firm and solemn resolve to proclaim India as the Independent Sovereign Republic. It recognizes the Rights and Duties of Citizens and responsibilities of State to ensure these rights to all citizens.
The Objective Resolutions moved by Jawahar Lal Nehru contained the philosophy of Constitution.
It provided for safeguards for minorities, backward and tribal areas, and other backward classes.
Guarantee to all people of India of Justice, freedom, expression, faith, and Worship.
The Constitution contained in it the Fundamental Rights, Distribution of Power, Fundamental Duties, Directive Principles to ensure equality for all.
