Acetic acid, which at low concentrations is known as vinegar, is used as a medication to treat a number of conditions. As an eardrop it is used to treat infections of the ear canal. One example is Aspirin. Aspirin is an acid which is not strong enough to damage you.
Magnesium hydroxide is used as an 'antacid' to neutralize excess acid in the stomach and cure indigestion.
