Open in App
Solution

Acid rain refers to precipitation with a pH of less than 5. It is, in fact, a mixture of H2SO4 and HNO3; the ration of two acids vary depending on the relative quantities of sulphur oxides(SO2) and nitrogen oxides(NO2) present in the atmosphere. These oxides are mainly produced by combustion of fossil fuels, smelters, industries, power plants, automobile exhausts, domestic fires etc. On an average, H2SO4 contribute 60-70% of the acidity while HNO3 contributes 30-40%.
So, the correct answer is 'NO2,SO2'.
