  2. The fine air spaces between the soil particles have oxygen.
  3. The oxygen is taken up by the root hair through diffusion.

  5. So oxygen diffuses in the root hair and reaches the epidermal cell of the roots.
  6. Carbon dioxide from roots moves to the air spaces present in the soil through the root hair.
