Effect of CFC on the environment :
Chlorofluorocarbons are the ozone-depleting substances released from refrigerators and air conditioners.
The (CFCs) produce “active Chlorine” (Cl and ClO radicals) in the presence of UV-radiations, which react with ozone and destroy ozone catalytically by converting it into oxygen.
As they are the major contributor to ozone depletion, these chemicals deplete the ozone layer and harmful Ultraviolet rays directly fall on the earth which ultimately causes diseases such as cataracts and skin cancers in human beings
