Definition:
A hybrid is an offspring of parents that differ from their parents in the genetically determined traits.GMO (genetically modified organisms) can be defined as organisms in which the genetic material has been altered.

Method of production:
Hybrids are produced by cross breeding or cross pollinating two differentanimal or plant species, whereas the production of GMO involves insertion of a gene into an organism so as to express a specific trait or character.

Complexity:
Hybrids are easily produced whereas GMO involves more specialized procedures.

Significance:
Formation of hybrids is time consuming and along with desirable traits they also in herit undesirable traits. Formation of GMO is accurate as the desired gene is only present.
