Open in App
Solution

Using the identity (a+b+c)2=a2+b2+c2+2ab+2bc+2ca.

GIven: (x+y+3z)2 we apply the above identity as follows:

(x+y+3z)2=x2+y2+(3z)2+(2×x×y)+(2×y×3z)+(2×3z×x)=x2+y2+9z2+2xy+6yz+6zx

Hence, (x+y+3z)2=x2+y2+9z2+2xy+6yz+6zx.
