  • The FSH also causes the release of the ovule from the ovary (ovulation) and promotes the secretion of estrogen hormone in females.
  • The FSH hormone also promotes the formation of sperms in males through spermatogenesis.

Therefore, the expanded form of FSH is a follicle-stimulating hormone.
