Experiment with multiplying very large numbers until your calculator displays an answer that is not in standard form. What do you think the answer means?

After multiplying very large numbers with my calculator, the calculator started displaying answer in exponent form followed by a digit. I think the answer has been expressed in scientific notation i.e. as a product of a digit and a power of 10. Scientific notation is used to deal with large numbers , so as to make mathematical operation easier with gigantic numbers.
