People who are natives of Mizoram are called as Mizo and their culture is called as Mizo culture. Mizo is the official language of Mizoram along with English.
Mizo Culture
Mizo culture is rich in Mizo music , folk dance , mizo festivals , mizo cuisine , Mizo Literature and so much more.
The folk music of Mizoram consists of vocals accompanied by traditional gongs and drums along with other native percussion intruments. The folk dance of Mizoram are often accompanied with musical instrument like the gong and drum. Some of the different dances of Mizoram are Khuallam, Chheihlam, Chailam, Tlanglam, Sarlamkai , Cheraw dance,and Chawnglaizawn. Coming to the Mizo cuisine ,the staple food of most of the Mizo people is rice, with meat and vegetables served on the side. Homely bai, a simple vegetable stew, non veg stew with sesame, garlic, onion and herbs are also common.
Mizo Festivals
Traditional festivals in Mizoram are often celebrated around stages of jhum cultivation. The major kuts are Chapchar Kut . Thalfavang Kut , Mim Kut and Pawl Kuts.
