Explain an activity to demonstrate electrolysis of water.

Here is the very simple activity

Aim : To show electrolysis of water
Materials Required: A Beaker,an anode and a cathode,Water and a battery and switch
Procedure:1) Connect the anode to the positive terminal of the battery and the cathode to the negative terminal.
2) Dip the electrodes inside the water.
3) Switch on it.
Reactions: reduction at cathode: 2H⁺ + 2e^- ---->H₂
oxidation at anode: 2H₂O ---->O₂ + 4H⁺ + 4e^-
Observation: Hydrogen gets deposited in the cathode and oxygen gets deposited at the anode
