Features of Northern Plains are:
1. Northern plains are formed by the interplay of the three major river systems - the Indus, the Ganga and the Brahmaputra along with their tributaries.
2. It is formed of alluvial soil which makes it very fertile.
3. Due to adequate water supply and favourable climatic conditions, it is agriculturally productive.
4. Northern plains are classified into 4 sections due to the different relief features : Bhabar, Terai , Bhangar , Khadar.
5. It covers almost whole of North India i.e. parts of Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan, MP, UP, Bihar, West Bengal.
