Solution

Organic evolution

  1. It is the process by which changes in the genetic composition of an organism start taking place in response to environmental changes.
  2. Palaeontological evidence or fossils support the theory of organic evolution.
  3. Palaeontology is the study of fossils.
  4. They are formed with the remains of entities, plants that get implanted into water or soil, thus preserved for years together.
  5. In appearance, they resemble skeletal, moulds, and footprints or are intact in snow.
  6. With these studies, similarities can be drawn between entities from the present and ancestors.
  7. Organic evolution is not a hypothetical concept.
  8. Some evidence can provide proof depicting the existence and occurrence of organic evolution.
  9. The evidence includes Fossils, Vestigial organs, Homologous organs, Atavism, Analogous organs, Embryology, and Connecting links.
  10. Example - Archaeopteryx occurred during the Palaeozoic era around 180 million years ago.
  11. It is a dead connecting link between reptiles and birds and provides fossil proof of the organic evolution of birds from reptiles (dinosaurs).
