Solution

Following are the three ways other than zoological parks, botanical gardens and wildlife safaries by which threatened species of plants and animals are being conserved 'ex-situ':-

1. Cryopreservation : It is technique by which gametes of threatened species can be preserved in viable and fertile condition for long periods at liquid nitrogen temperature (196C).

2. Seed bank : It is one of the ex-situ conservation strategy in which seeds of different genetic strains of commercially important plant can be kept for long periods.

3. Tissue culture : It is a process by which part of plants can be propagated (micropropagation).
