There are different types of diseases which occur in the poultry. The common viral infections are caused due to influenza and the pox virus. The avian influenza virus affects the upper respiratory tract. There are lesions formed due to the infections by this virus.
The common bacterial diseases are avian tuberculosis and mycoplasma infections. The tuberculosis is caused due to Mycobacterium avium. This is the bacterium which is similar to the tuberculosis bacterium which infects the humans. The bacteria affects the lungs and forms nodules or tubercles. The mycoplasma causes infections which are not easily diagnosed. This affects the respiratory system in the birds.
