a) In ICSI, sperm is directly injected into the cytoplasm of the ovum. Sperms which are injected are the ones with good motility and fertilising capacity. Large number of sperms are injected in one ovum. Hence, one of them ultimately causes fertilisation of ovum.
b) Artificial insemination:
This requires fertilization, but not mating Sperm from a selected breed with desirable traits is artificially transferred to women through a process called insemination.
Advantage:
artificial insemination is used for humans, it may result in couples who would not have passed on to genes. This may impede the process of natural selection and increase biodiversity.
