Briefly explain the different regions of brain.

Brain:

  1. It is one of the largest organs in the body and coordinates most of the body's movements.
  2. It is the center of all thought memory, judgment, and emotion.
  3. Each part of the brain is responsible for various body functions, such as regulating temperature, regulating, and breathing.

Regions of the brain:

Cerebellum:

  1. It is a facet of motor learning and coordination of movement.

Cerebrum:

  1. It helps in performing conscious actions such as thinking, emotions, perception, and planning.

Medulla:

  1. It includes important reflexes such as respiration, and heartbeat.

Thalamus:

  1. It filters and relays information to different parts of the brain.

Hypothalamus:

  1. It participates in the regulation of various actions of the internal structures to monitor information from the ANS (autonomic nervous system).
  2. It regulates the pituitary gland and its hormones.
  3. It also controls appetite and sleep.

Brainstem:

  1. It relays information from the spine to the upper brain.
