1. Policy making: The cabinet formulates external and internal policies of the government. They take decisions on matters related to President rule, emergency, electoral reforms, health projects, etc.
2. Appointments: All important appointments such as the Supreme Court judges, the Governors, the Ambassadors, are made by the President after consulting the cabinet
3. Legislative: The cabinet prepares the President’s address to the Parliament. They also help the President issue Ordinance, summon or prorogue the House, and prepare government bills
