A three-pin plug

Solution
The purpose of a three-pin plug is to make it safe to supply electrical appliances with main power.
Three pins make up a three-pin plug, i.e.earth, neutral, and alive.
To prevent any risks, each pin is correctly linked to one of the three wires in the electrical cable.
To make it easy to distinguish one wire from another, each has a unique designated colour.
The colour of the live wire is brown. It is linked to the live pin's fuse. The electric current uses the live wire as its route.
Blue is the colour of the neutral wire. This is the route the electric current takes when it exits an appliance; it is for this reason the neutral wire has a voltage close to zero.
The earth pin is attached to the earth wire, which is green in colour.
When an appliance has a metal casing, this is utilised to drain any current in the event that the live wire makes contact with the casing.
