Consequences of increased population:

1. Population growth due to decreased death rates has led to poor sanitation, depletion of natural resources, pollution, etc.
2. Urbanization is also one of the reasons for increased pollution and poor sanitation.

Poverty and population:

1. Unequal distribution of wealth in the Indian population creates a majority of the population being in the low-income group.
2. The low-income group inhabiting mostly the rural areas think that having more children will yield them more income from child labor.
