(i) Disinfectants are strong germ-killing substances applied only on non-living things because they can cause harm to any live tissue.

(ii) Penicillin is an antibiotic obtained from the fungus Penicillium notatum. It inhibits the growth of bacteria.

(iii) Sulphonamides are drugs that inhibit the growth of bacteria. These drugs are readily absorbed by humans.

(iv) Vaccines are preparations that stimulate an immune response that can prevent an infection or create resistance to an infection.
