Explain briefly why the water tank in a house is located at the highest possible level - usually on the roof.

Open in App
Solution

  1. The water tank in a house is located at the highest possible level as the pressure of the liquid at the top is minimum.
  2. When water is released for use from the taps of the house, the pressure difference is the maximum.
  3. Due to this, water comes with maximum pressure when we open the taps.
  4. Hence, to maximize the pressure difference between the tank and the tap, tanks are placed at the highest possible point.
