Explain compressional maximum ,rarefaction maximum.Is there anything like compressional minimum ,rarefaction minimum?

Dear Student ,

In Longitudinal wave the maximum compression means the pressure and density of air is maximum at that point .
similarly maximum rarefaction is the minimum pressure and minimum density of air at a certain point.
No only above terms are used to define wave motion . these terms are vice versa to each other.
