$\lambda =$ wavelength of light
$\varphi =$ work function of meter
on the basis of Einsteins equation when the light say is incident on metal surface, then it absorbs energy and emits the electron from the surface
for a given frequency above $v_0$, the number of electron transmitted per unit time is proportional to the intensity of incident radiation.
