Question

Explain Einstein's explanation for photoelectric effect.

Open in App
Solution

Einstein equation of photo electric is
Ek=hvϕ=hcλϕ
where, h= constant
c= speed of light
λ= wavelength of light
ϕ= work function of meter
on the basis of Einsteins equation when the light say is incident on metal surface, then it absorbs energy and emits the electron from the surface
for a given frequency above v0, the number of electron transmitted per unit time is proportional to the intensity of incident radiation.
