Differences between the western and eastern coastal plains of India are
1. The western coastal plain lies between the Arabian sea and the western ghats. The eastern coastal plain lies between the Bay of Bengal and the eastern ghats.
2. The width of the western plains is between 50 to 100 kilometres. The width of the eastern plains is between 100 to 130 kilometres.
3. The eastern plains are divided into five regions. They are the Mahanadi delta, the Southern Andhra Pradesh delta, the Krishna Godavari delta, the Kanyakumari coast and the Coromandel coast. The western plains are divided into three regions. They are the Konkan coast, the Kanara coast and the Malabar coast.
