Solution
The process of producing a large number of genes through genetic engineering is called gene cloning. It makes use of the vector in which the DNA or the gene of interest is inserted which is then incorporated into a suitable host for multiplication so that a large number of copies of the gene is produced.
A clone consists of asexual progeny of a single individual or a cell and the process of producing a clone is called cloning. When a living organism is cloned it is called organismal cloning. Clone is a Homozygote which is obtained asexually and all the cells of the clone have genetic material which is exactly identical to the original individual.
